There are dozens of different EVs to choose from- how do you know which one is right for you?
The Clean Charge Network has an easy online questionnaire to help match you with personalized EV or Plug-In Hybrid options.
Edmunds has a full list of EVs and the most up to date available tax-credits and rebates that may apply.
Plug Star is also a great resource as Plug in America’s EV shopping site. Plug Star has all types of information on EVs, including a feature that compares the recharging speeds of all EVs on the market.
Green Energy Consumers Alliance has a Green Drive Program that partners with local dealers in the Commonwealth.

Installing a charging station at your home can seem daunting, but we are here to help!
All electric vehicles come with their own level 1 charger (slowest charge) that can be plugged into a regular home (110 volt) outlet.
Here are a few helpful resources for anyone looking for more information on chargers or who are looking to install a level two (faster charge time) at their home.
ChargeHub is a great resource to learn the basics about which charging station might be right for you.
Going off island? This EV Charging Station tool Open Charge Map offers Android, iOS, and Google Web Apps for mobile users and maps more than 150,000 chargers across 75,000 locations around the world and will allow you to plan any trip with ease.
Plugshare is also a great resource to help find public charging stations and plan trips.
Chargepoint is one company that has their own vast network of charging stations. If you want to charge at one of their stations you’ll need an account.

It breaks down the per mile emissions from hybrid, and electric vehicles - input your zip code, make, model, and year to get as accurate a result as possible.

The best kept secret about electric vehicles are the shockingly low lifetime vehicle costs- on average, you can save nearly 60% of the annual costs of ownership.
To get a more accurate sense of the financial benefits of making the switch away from gasoline, ChooseEV has a fantastic EV savings calculator which compares yearly costs per mile between gas and electric vehicles and can help you visualize the expected annual and lifetime savings.
The US Department of Energy and The New York Times also have helpful vehicle cost calculators to help project costs per mile, annual operating costs, fuel/electricity consumption and annual emissions for any vehicle.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts provides rebates to own or lease new or used EVs and Plug-in Hybrids.
Massachusetts offers $3,500 - $6,000 in cash back rebates for eligible EVs and plug in hybrid electric vehicles through the MOR-EV program. For more information check out this link.
Eversource’s Electric Vehicle Home Charging Rebates Program is also available to residents of Massachusetts, and provides $700 - $1,700 to help cover the cost of electric panel upgrades associated with installing an EV charger at your home.
Check out this EV Incentive Tool from Edmunds to find credits and rebates that may apply to your purchase or lease of an EV.
The federal government provides the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit (30C) which allows individuals to claim 30% of the cost up to $1,000 off of electric vehicle charging property placed into service in the home.
NOTE: This credit is set to expire on June 30th, 2026.
Massachusetts Electric Vehicle Incentive Program (EVIP) also offers incentives for public entities looking to electrify their vehicle fleet or add charging stations.
